Friday 15th July - hike *** sunny periods
Nice day relaxing start in the garden a bit sad after the horrendous events
in Nice :( our thoughts go out to these who have lost love ones.
With the sun out and light winds Mag and I headed to Newbourne park for a
walk. We headed to the church and down to the River Deden where the banks
are alive with purple sea heather, very pretty :) There was a Marsh Harrier
overhead and several boats out on the river even though the tide was very
low. We continue to Kiton Creek before returning to Hemley Church along our
favourite path but no birds today and back to the van. The walk was a
little over four miles and took about an hour and a half, very pleasant in
the hot sunshine.
Windsurf **
Back at home we have lunch in the garden and as I have been called into
work all next week:) I decided to hitch up the trailer and head to
Levington as it was offshore at Felixstowe. With no 8.5 ( still looking for
a Tushingham Lightning 8.5 if anyone can help) I was hoping the wind didn't
fill in too much. I parked at the marina entrance as the tide was low and
rigged big, the wind threatened to build but never quite made it:( I headed
to the dock and sailed with the old barges which was fun. I then beat up to
Pin Mill avoiding a couple of tankers. After a couple of hours I called it
a day as the sun disappeared but the wind had increased. Might be a little
breeze tomorrow but nowhere near as windy as last weekend:(
PS - check out my pig pic the East Anglian Daily Times my local paper :)
